For more than two thousand years, Jesus has been admired, debated, and worshiped. Yet many people have never encountered the radical, counter-cultural man who challenged power, redefined greatness, and invited ordinary people into an extraordinary life.

In The Original Outlaw, you'll discover a fresh look at Jesus through the defining characteristics that set Him apart from every other leader in history—love, compassion, humility, courage, obedience, wisdom, and authenticity.

This book makes three promises:

You will gain a deeper understanding of who Jesus really was beyond religious stereotypes and cultural assumptions.

You will discover practical ways to live with greater purpose, courage, and freedom by applying His teachings to everyday life.

You will be challenged to become the man or woman God created you to be by embracing a life rooted in truth, integrity, and faith.

Jesus was not an outlaw because He rejected God. He was an outlaw because He rejected everything that stood in the way of God's heart.

His invitation still stands.

I walked into the Crucible Project weekend in January of 2023 feeling defective. Not dramatically. Just quietly, persistently broken in some place I could not name — like a bone that had healed wrong and ached in cold weather. I did not know what was about to happen to me. I came out three days later with the beginning of something I had never quite had: an honest reckoning with who I had been, and the first glimpse of who I could become.

Three and a half years later, I am still an apprentice. Still in process. Still being made into something I am not yet. The second half of my life is more purposeful, more costly, and more alive than anything I managed to produce in all those years of performing. That is not my achievement. That is what happens when you finally stop running and let the Original Outlaw catch you.

The question is whether you are ready to follow. Not from a distance. Up close, where it costs something.

That is where the real life is.

The question is whether you are ready to follow.
